You found Visual Basic 6.0 Pro for $49.95

| I bought Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Professional for $49.95 at
http://www.malldream.com/
This is downloadable software, and it will work on your computer (there is no activation like WinXP), but you won't be eligible for updates or tech support.
The files you download are pretty big, so you need a fast connection, not dialup. Then burn them to CD.
Maybe it isn't ethical, but neither is charging anywhere from $300 to $800 for the product. I can't fork out that kind of money, so I'll do what I have to. Don't trust downloadable software sites for operating systems that require activation or validation, though. Great prices on genuine software like Windows XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro can be found online (like http://www.edirectsoftware.com/) where what you get is the CD imprinted with a hologram label. Just search Google using search terms like "Office 2003 Pro best price" or whatever. Put it on a credit card and if it doesn't work you can dispute the charge. Good luck. | |

Don't get your hopes up. If they're anything like the California Franchise Tax
Board or the IRS, they won't waste their time on small potatoes or with certain
foreign entities.

I fully agree. It's like, I wanted this Mercedes, but they were charging
$62000.00 for it. F-ing thieves! No way can I come up with that kind
of spare change. Fortunately, I was able to jack one at a stoplight the
other day from this beatch. Then, I had to pull over and put the d***
carseat out on the curb 'cause the little brat wouldn't quit squallin'.
Almost slowed me down in getting the kind of wheels I deserve. Now,
I gonna get me some software.

| You might not want to hobnob too much with the
BSA. They're basically a front set up by MS,
Adobe, etc. to do their dirty work and to release PR
pushing for tough software licensing....like the RIAA
or a collection agency:

| It isn't just unethical. It is illegal (both selling AND purchasing).

What a great read. I used to evangelize microsoft and probably couldn't have
built my business without their tools, but like Sterling Ball I won't do
business with someone who treats me like a piece of cr*p. Sorry, but there are
far too many viable alternatives.
Thank you microsoft, but no thank you.
