VB6 crashes on add component
|
|
|
| Hello,
I have recently reinstalled VB6 on my home computer after not having used it
for a while and whenever I add a component reference to the toolbox, the
VB6.exe IDE GPFs instantly. This happens with any component reference via
'add component'.
It doesn't appear to happen when adding normal DLL references via 'add
reference'.
I am running XP SP2 and have got VB6 SP6 installed.

It would have been helpful if you had provided a bit more information (such
as an exact error message and/or number, if such was provided), but maybe
the following will help:
PRB: System Error "No Such Interface Supported"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q183370/
I'm not aware of this problem ever occuring under WinXP (or even Win2000),
but that's the best I can come up with given your description of the
problem.

| There isn't an error message or number unfortunately, it's just "Microsoft
Visual Basic has encountered an error and needs to close. We apologise for
any inconvenience." A GPF.
Thanks for having a look though anyway

Thanks
