I have a program written in VB 6.0 on XP pro sp2. (I mention that only
because it may contribute to my problem!) It finds certain emails in the
users default inbox and extracts data from the message body text. It makes
references to CDO 1.21. I complied the project and used the VS packaging
and distribution wizard to create a setup program. Setup works fine on my
computer, but when it's run on another computer (XP pro sp1) the setup
program says that the 'setup program' is out of date. Even when the user
says to update the system, windows restarts and the same message appears.
When the user manually copies out the .cab files the program runs, but
generates a INVALID_ENTRY_ID error. (presumably because there are bad .dll
references going on) I also will need to install the program on Windows 98
systems. I don't know if the two problems are even related, so any help is
much appreciated.
