Saving a TreeView to a Recordset

In VB6, is there a way of saving an entire treeview to a recordset field, by
first defining a recordset field as a binary or something like that? It
would be nice to be able to save a treeview in one shot, rather than
iterating recursively through the treevew and adding records to a recordset
along the way. Thanks. VB.NET can probably do that using SoapFormatter,
but I'm working with VB6. Thanks.
