Look in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora for the service name of
your Oracle database. From the command line, try running "tnsping
<service_name>".

You may need to contact your Oracle database administrator. If that's
you, check out "Net Services Administrator's Guide" at
<http://otn.oracle.com/>
