Hi,
We've SCO Unix installed on our servers. I don't know much about the
servers, becuase I only can login and use my applications. Currently,
we are using windows clients with Smarterm
(www.svamsoftware.com/newsvam2/produ...erm/default.asp) and RPM
(remote printing manager - http://www.brooksnet.com). Are there any
alternatives for these 2 applications on linux. If there are any
alternatives, kindly tell me. So, we can migrate our clients to linux.

thanks,
Hameed U. Khan

I don't know the specific feature sets of those programs, but Linux has
stuff (more than one choice) that sounds like it does that. So I would
say you could replace Windows with Linux, as well as replace SCO with
Linux. But you'd have to just try things out in the 2nd phase of the
migration to see if it really works. The 1st phase would be someone
learning what all you (all, at you company) do and see how well that
fits with what the programs for Linux can do.

So, how is this a unix _programming_ issue? Or should you have asked in
a Linux group?
