| Drive product innovation in a highly critical Senior Software Engineer
role that will take you to the flat out bleeding crimson edge of web
application load balancing technology. Your passport to join F5's elite
sustaining engineering team will hinge on your exceptional
understanding of C/C++ programming, Unix kernels and TCP/IP stacks. The
rewards are many. Your work will help accelerate network traffic
running through the world's most recognized companies. We'll make sure
you have the best hardware toys to play with. Your colleagues'
collective energy is infectious and will inspire you to new heights.
Finally, besides offering a highly competitive salary and a career path
from principal engineer to architect, we'll cater to your well being
with our fun and friendly working environment, where you'll be
surrounded by a large supply of smart, motivated people who will help
you focus your skills and development practices to new heights.
It's not every day that you get to work for a company that's
shaping the future of networking and of Application Traffic Management.
It's happening today at F5 Networks. F5 Network solutions are
positioned within the data center, front-ending web, application and
data servers - a place where we've been successfully delivering
application traffic for nearly 10 years and 10,000 customers. Our
products are unique in their ability to view and act upon
bi-directional traffic flows. This provides complete control over
payload content and the ability to manipulate it to best fit business
requirements. And only F5 Networks has the Traffic Management Operating
System=99 (TM/OS) - which gives customers the flexibility to add
functionality like Compression, Caching, and Application Firewalling
without adding more boxes. Join us in continuing to shape and define
the future.
As one of our Seattle-based Senior Software Engineers, your career at
F5 Networks begins with our traditional "New Guy" build analysis
project. You will take the build of our revolutionary BIG IP, and try
to reduce its inherent complexity using every bit of C/C++ coding
savvy, troubleshooting skill, and bug busting technique in your
arsenal. To be a top performer in this role you can address core
architectural problems at a source code level; e.g., seeing a need to
refactor the code to make it run faster. You can attack problems
wielding different programming tactics and techniques such as text
parsers that would enable you to craft code that is more readable, and
less buggy while still following the intended code path. In the final
analysis, if you're an outstanding troubleshooter of code, who
understands at the kernel level what the Intel processor is trying to
do, you will thrive in this role and be recognized as a difference
maker within the organization.
