Or at least just a spammer. Once was /more/ than enough for this sort of
thing.
(Though if it's a "sock puppet", who is the original identity? I
understand a "sock puppet" to be the same person under another name in
order to make it look like they have followers or just agreeing with
himself?)

I always thought a sock puppet was just an representative for a company,
human or automaton. {shrug} whatever. The internet is inventing terms and
accronyms faster than I can read about it.

Too true, and the biggest problem on usenet is there are so many
definitions of some some what common usenet terms. Sure you have FAG and
"description" websites posted in soem groups, but I've seen many that
contradict each other in several ways. Oh well....., welcome to the
Internet :-)

I thought that to be a sock puppet, you would also have to appear to be an
independent person. IOW: a sock puppet is a fake identity that supports
whoever's hand is inside the sock.

No I'm not paranoid. You all think I'm paranoid, don't you !

Yes, sounds about right; that is what I was tryign to get at, though
seems like you did it better :-)

| I've been reading the thread that were started by napi,
and the resulting comments with some humor.. whether his actions qualifies
as 'spam' is secondary to me, for now.
He's the real deal. Not some robot or someone else or socks or whatever
faking an identity. The reason I'm sure? I've been e-mailing with him
for quite some time now.
I've tried out MPC as a beta tester. It worked well enough for me to qualify
as a C compiler. He did told me that MPC supports a large subset
of ANSI C, though still not yet 100% compliant. But he said
eventually it will be there.
Tell you what guys..why don't you guys just register yourselves as beta
testers and try MPC out yourselves, rather than just extensively speculating..
I think this kind of product can still find its own niche market..
