Author Compiler positions available for week ending February 24
comp.compilers

2008-02-24, 7:33 pm

This is a digest of ``help wanted'' and ``position available'' messages
received at comp.compilers during the preceding w. Messages must
advertise a position having something to do with compilers and must also
conform to the guidelines periodically posted in misc.jobs.offered.
Positions that remain open may be re-advertised once a month. To respond
to a job offer, send mail to the author of the message. To submit a
message, mail it to compilers@iecc.com.

Subject: PhD Studentship at the University of Kent
Date: Mon, 18 Feb 08 14:21:09 GMT
Organization: University of Kent at Canterbury, UK.

Funding is available for a PhD studentship at the University of Kent
to work on the topic of:

Finding Security Bugs in x86 code

The project will investigate how security vulnerabilities can be
automatically located in x86 code. Rather than trap a fault when it
occurs as the program is running, the project will devise compile-time
techniques for locating faults before the program is executed. The
project will apply techniques from compiling, constraint solving and
semantics, though the applicant need not have expertise in all these
fields.

Applicants should contact Andy King (A.M.King@kent.ac.uk) for further details.
