DOS Program to Compile in Microsoft Visual 6?

We had several old DOS programs at my company sent to us for modification. They were last compiled under Microsoft Visual version 1.52. There has been success backward compiling these programs under DOS Microsoft Compiler version 7.

My question is...

Can the DOS compiler under Microsoft Visual 6 compile these old DOS
programs. I haven't listed specifics, but this is in general...
