| It seems I have really angered Jeff Hobbs (tclguy) and probably others
here with my recent posts to comp.lang.tcl.
"tclguy is GPS around?"
"tclguy I'd like to understand what flavor of naive, obstinate and/or
helpful he's trying to be on clt ..."
I'm sure my clarification of what was said by KBK in the Tcler's Chat
regarding the TCT didn't help matters either. I posted this link today
on the page regarding that discussion (it's a log of what Kevin B. Kenny
(a core team member) said):

I'm sorry if any of my views hurt the ActiveState employees in general.
I'm also sorry that I can't agree with the current management.
I'm planning to delete my sourceforge account tomorrow, after I sleep on
it. Today I just don't want to be involved with the tcl, tk, or tcllib
projects anymore. I'm going to continue the work on my personal
projects.

I think you can see from my responses that I was not so much angered
as bemused by your posts. It did irk a bit, but I could see that you
were taking a very narrow view of things.

I don't agree with all the things noted there, and KBK didn't even
agree with them, but there are many points of view.

Apology accepted and appreciated, but more important would be to work
together to get an understanding of what would help everybody. If you
feel agitated enough to do something, there are many positive efforts
that people can work together on (that starts with the assumption that
AS isn't evil, that we are just trying to do our best ;) ).
Who are you referring to about "management" above? ActiveState or the
TCT? They are very separate entities with separate goals and separate
management styles.

George, I don't want you to leave. I doubt that others
do. You're free to do so, of course, and perhaps that
works out best for you; there's no way for others of us
to know that from the outside.
I'm optimistic, though, that when we straighten out a lot
of the communication, we'll find we're better off together
more rather than less. Also, I'm plenty confident that
ActiveState employees get over any of the hurts you describe
in short order.
