The color bitmaps are broken on 8.4.x as well under Aqua. I filed a bug
about this some time ago:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?fu...997&atid=112997

A supplementary feature request would allow Tk to display arbitrary
Mac-native icons using native API's, as Windows currently does:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?fu...997&atid=362997

If anyone wants to add their support to these requests, it might help
get them bumped up in terms of priority.
