I build on sunos on a regular basis with no errors. I however do not
build with gcc. I don't know if that plays a part or not.

I suggest anyone having problems compiling a tcl extension try these
steps.

1. Determine if there is a mailing list or web forum for the extension,
or a web address of the author. Describe your environment, what you
type, and what response you are getting. See if someone can point out
either something you are missing in the docs, or something that is
undocumented. In the latter case, it would be hoped that the
undocumented becomes documented.

2. Check http://wiki.tcl.tk and its chatroom to see if anyone is able
to provide helpful pointers.

3. If no help is forthcoming, post a note to comp.lang.tcl. If you
don't have an nntp feed, http://groups.google.com is at least one web
interface to it.

If you are unable to satisfactorily get the extension built using these
steps, then it is advisable that you go back to step 1, but this time
ask for an alternative to the extension that does build properly.
