I'd like to inform you of some new developments around Smalltalk
that will happen in Barcelona (Spain).
- Introduction to programming course based on the book
"Squeak: Learn Programming with Robots" (written by S.Ducasse;
http://smallwiki.unibe.ch/botsinc/) addressed to people
with no previous knowledge in programming.
Starting promptly.
Duration: 12 w s
Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Place: Citilab (Cornell=E0, http://www.citilab.eu/inici)
The software BotsInc has been translated to Catalan, the
translation of the book is in progress.
- Smalltalk course based on Squeak and the book "Squeak by Example"
(written by A.P.Black, S.Ducasse, O.Nierstrasz & D.Pollet;
http://squeakbyexample.org). It starts on April 2nd. Addressed to
people with some knowledge of computer programming.
Duration: 12 ws
Wednesday, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm
Place: Citilab (Cornell=E0, http://www.citilab.eu/inici)
This course will be given next academic year 2008/09 as a
free elective course at the School of Informatics of Barcelona
(http://www.fib.upc.edu/en/centre.html)
The courses are for free (the only requirement is to be a Citilab
member,
but that is 3 euro per year). More information (only in catalan,
