| We have a unique opportunity within a progressive R&D and Development
organization for a Validation Engineer with functional programming
expertise in the Portland, Oregon area. Details are as followed:
Validation Engineer
§ Collaborate with certification and accreditation engineer to develop,
refine, and maintain project V&V plans including but not limited to:
§ Mechanisms and methodologies for validating and verifying models,
implementations, and the correspondence process between models and the
implementation.
§ Strategy for security focused evaluations including independent red team
exploit testing.
§ Approach and mechanisms for performance benchmarking and stress
testing.
§ Approach and mechanisms for integration testing with external systems
which interoperate with the high-assurance products.
§ Target hardware and peripherals evaluation.
§ Target environment evaluation including installation testing and
distributed environment testing.
§ Perform reviews of models and implementation.
§ Architect, construct and maintain automated testing and reporting
infrastructure, including traceability of tests/evaluations to
requirements.
§ Participate in release process as quality assessor and final authority
for release completion.
§ Audit compliance to information assurance processes.
§ Implement tracking mechanisms for deviations, exceptions or failures.
Develop and track metrics for all critical V&V measures and communicate to
team.
§ Collaborate with lead developer in assuring the tool chain performance,
reliability and security.
§ Specify, acquire and configure test labs. Plan and acquire resources and
tools to support V&V activities.
Education - Must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in computer science,
mathematics, or equivalent.
Experience - Must have at least 3 years industry experience developing
software for external customers, or equivalent. Ideal candidate will have
direct experience with DoD operational environments; verification and
validation; and certification and accreditation processes.
Technical expertise - Required
§ Must have functional testing experience, including coding, testing,
configuration management, defect tracking, metrics
§ Technical expertise - Preferred, but not required
§ Familiarity with US government high assurance software development
requirements (such as the Common Criteria, particularly EAL5+), trusted
computing, multi-level security applications and cryptography.
§ Experience with Haskell or other functional language
§ Experience with automated QA software tools
§ General skills - Must work well with customers, including building
rapport, identifying needs, and communicating with strong written, verbal
and presentation skills. Must be highly motivated and able to self-manage
to deadlines and quality goals.
§ Citizenship -Applicant will be a US citizen. Security clearance highly
desirable.
