Author Problems after opening object during check out process in PB8

Is anyone familiar with or had experiences with GPF's which occur
after opening an object while the check out process is taking place in
PB8? I can no longer open the object without a GPF occuring. I was
checking out an object (VSS is our source control software), and
accidently clicked the enter button to open the object just a bit too
early. Powerbuilder opens the object painter and then GPF's before
the layout is painted.

What do I do to fix this situation? It seems that something is
corrupt but I can't figure out what. I've done a full rebuild,
removed all my local source and copied it from source control again,
got the latest version...EVERYTHING I could think of and nothing has
worked.

It's not only the object I was checking out which displays the problem
either.
