Author Learning to Program - Version 6 Personal

I go tthe Version 6 personal Edition when it came out and I would like to
move on to Version 7 when I get more comfortable with the language. I have
never programed in Pascal or Delphi and barely scraped the surface when I
started to experiment with the program. Is there a recommended place to
learn the language basics or are the included help files suffiecent to learn
the language.

I learned to use Visual Basic by books, many many books. But inexpensive
books on Delphi 6 are hard to find in my area. The only place I am seeing
them are online and I hate buying something like that without knowing a
little about the way the writer addresses the subject. Is there an online
resource that can teach me the basics and is there a beginners book (for
reference) that you would recommend.

Thanks for your help
Don.

Thanks.

I really think this is worth learning.
