XSB on Ubuntu?

Has anyone successfully installed XSB on Ubuntu?

I checked out source code from CVS at sourceforge, run the build and
makexsb. Everything is fine, until I run the interpreter xsb, it
gives me this error message:

++Memory violation occurred during evaluation.
++Please report this problem using the XSB bug tracking system
accessible from
++ http://sourceforge.net/projects/xsb
++Please supply the steps necessary to reproduce the bug.

I've searched quite a while but no avail.
