hi all,
1. Is there any WIN 32 API function to read the cpu usage?

2. Is there any WIN 32 API function to read the free hard disk space that
is more than 4 GB?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry. You get the long and round-about answer.

Some ys back I hacked up a port of some Prolog (no gratuitous advertising ;)
to a (a-hem!) DOS machine. From what I vaguely remember, there was no
nice cpu usage available, and I had to further hack up something hanging
off one of the clock channels. But it ended up with (approx) microsec accuracy.

I understand this mess (luckily -- you may be aiming for the part
that has some comments, thanks to Mr DeLorie) is still available some
places -- the CMU AI archive being one.
