Applications Scientist - Mannheim, Germany

Sing a Applications Scientist for a technology leader specializing in
software solutions for life science R&D. This position is located in
Mannheim, Germany. Here is more information:

Job responsibilities primarily include pre-sales and post-sales applications
support of scientific software. Pre-sales support includes on-site formal
presentations and demonstrations of proprietary software and technical
assistance during customer evaluation of software. Post-sales support
includes formal training sessions and customer problem-solving outside the
general realm of technical support. The applications scientist works closely
with sales, technical support, marketing, and development teams.
Collaborative projects with customers, presentations at scientific
meetings, and publication is encouraged. The candidate must gain
familiarity with their entire suite of software, which includes homology
modeling, high-throughput docking, pharmacophore modeling, molecular
mechanics, and quantum mechanics.

A strong background in computational chemistry with application to
biological problems is highly desired. Exceptional communication skills, an
outgoing personality, and a willingness to travel are required.

Requirements:
* Ph.D. in computational chemistry plus experience with pharmaceutical
applications of molecular modeling software tools; docking or protein
structure prediction experience preferred
* Post-doctoral research and/or relevant experience in the commercial sector
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
* Strong problem-solving ability
* A broad knowledge of molecular modeling theory and applications
