It's been, what?, 20 years since use of the word "popular" and the phrase "out of the box"
in the same sentence as "Commodore 64" was meaningful.
:o)

Previously asked by the OP in this newsgroup before
http://groups.google.com/group/comp.../thread/76b612=
d644ea7888/a7739c98d36c4832
and comp.lang.cobol as well. Other posts suggest low S/N.

Don't know for the 6502, but if you have a CP/M sidecar for
your C=64, you can run a Microsoft Fortran compiler, I think.
fu2 comp.os.cpm ?

Well that's just disarmingly useful.

Yes I read them all. It was mostly rubbish.
Don't worry, I'm the only one that suffered.

Hmm.
Disarming? Maybe. Useful? Goodness, no. It wasn't meant to be.
But, if you are *still* looking, I should point out that a search for the topic on clf
revealed your past request - and useful answers. A Google search also provided much
information.
It's similar to when students ask for homework questions to be solved. If you show the
work you've already done, you'll get helpful replies. If you don't, you'll get (possibly
disarming) wrist slaps. :o)
cheers,
