OT: Humor: Hurricane naming

| Please pardon the cross-post, this seemed to be equally topical to both NGs.
For those who are not familiar with the eastern and osuthern coastal areas of the US of A,
and the conventions for hurricanes, please note that the "traditional" hurricane season
opens September 1st and major tropical storms (per-hurricanes) and hurricanes are named
with a series of names with are sequential in their beginning letters in the alphabetical
order used for American English (if that is not an intrisic oxymoron). The "traditional"
hurricane season runs through the end of November.
This year due to usually active and early hurricane generation, we already have used at least
15 names on the list (Ophelia is hitting North Carolina at the time of writing) and using
just the limited data of Katrina to Ophelia, we are running at roughly 4 named storms every
two w s. There are 10 w s remaining in the hurricane season, which, if present trends
continue (probably not), would result in requiring an additional 20 storm's names. The
American alphabet uses 26 letters, and 15 plus 20 makes a sum larger than 26.
WE HAVE A PROBLEM! We are likely to run out of names for tropical storms!
I propose that the list be reused, in cyclic manner, by the addendum of "Jr.". So after
the Z-named storm, the next storm would be the A-name suffixed with "Jr.". In the unlikely
event that more than 52 storm names are required, "3rd" would be used once all the "Jr"s
are exhausted. It is noted that this approach, if adopted, removes any arbitrary limit
on storm names; albeit, we recognize that should "Katrina VI" come around, probably many
people just won't care anymore.
No reply is necessary. However, people are encouraged to pester^H^H^H^H^H^H write to
the National Weather Service with their proposed solutions to the Tropical Storm Naming
Problem before it is too late.

I want to know how they knew in the movie "Oil Storm" on FX that a
hurricane would hit New Orleans just before labor day.
