Does anybody knows where I can download
a free Fortran 77 compiler, for DOS/Windows
(text only).

There are several free Windows compilers that will compile Fortran 77:
g95, gfortran, g77, Open Watcom, Salford. Please read the November 2004
thread "Fortran 77 compiler for WinXP" in this newsgroup for
discussion.

Go to Google; type in "free fortran windows"; see what comes up.

in the Free section. If you want a F77 compiler that will fit
on a (1.44MB) floppy disk, runs under DOS or Windows command
prompt, and which flags undefined variables, subscripts out of
range, etc., get the ol' Watfor77:
