No, but you posted a response to my challenge to "post a simple implementation
of TRIM in F77", to back up your assertion" that "It's simple enough to write a
TRIM function [in F77]".

I made the (apparently unreasonable) assumption that your response, taking the
form of a TRIM() implementation, was intended to be used in a real, working
Fortran program. Since that's obviously not the case, then I guess this
particular debate is over.

However, I wonder if you would like to try and post a working F77 program that
demonstrates the use of your TRIM() implementation? If we look way back to the
originator of this thread, we see that the originator had need of a TRIM()
function that would work as part of a F77 program. I imagine that your
non-functional implementation hasn't helped him to solve his problem.
