Actually you abort both zygotes and foetuses. In the UK (and I presume
other advanced societies such as the US although I have some doubts
how advanced the US really is) we have the morning-after pill and that
is very popular and aborts zygotes.

Still, 95 % of all conceptions spontaneously abort. That is natures
way (or if you bash the bible, GODS WAY).

From Wikipedia:
Though the procedure has had a low rate of usage, representing 0.17%
(2,232 of 1,313,000) of all abortions in the United States in 2000
Not 1.5 million. What would you rather have: 1.5 million abortions (at
an early stage) or to be taxed at a level to allow 1.5 million extra
children to be raised in orphanages at a reasonable standard of care?
At 60,000 dollars a year per child that represents 90 million dollars
per annum. Assuming that you pay tax then you, and other workers, have
to find 18 (years of care) * 90 million dollars extra tax which
amounts to roughly 1800 million dollars each year. Happy?
