Yes, but my question is, in what sense do the RCs see Jesus' use of
"father", and why do think would He forbid it's use in that sense? If
it isn't in the sense of spiritual or authoritative "father" I have no idea
what sense it could be, or why its use would be forbidden. Jesus did
specifically say no one on earth.

Why do people keep thinking I'm complaining about this? If I wanted
to attack the Roman Catholic position on this I would have done so.
And I would have certainly chosen a more significant issue than this
to challenge. There are many doctrinal differences between Roman
Catholics and Protestants, and this one is trivial. But I think it would
be pointless and counter productive for me to challenge their beliefs,
and I don't intend to.

So do I. I'm not offended by the practice, just puzzled by it.
