Lots of such lines are clear to children - but mean different things
to different people. If accepting the words as written doesn't match
our views of reality, then we accept the words as parables or poetic
or with some other meaning. Some people do this about creation,
others do it about the meaning of "father".
It's obvious what is meant when we start off with conclusions. The
Bible is literal and true when being literal and true agree with my
beliefs. When it conflicts with my beliefs to believe that it's
literal and true, then I need to figure out what it *really* means.
