I read a short story, where some guy brings a bottle containing old
manuscripts to some Christian scholars in Israel. They start looking
at it and come to a line "taken down from the cross more dead than
alive".
The final scene shows the man in a cave, magically creating a bunch of
such clay bottles. He points to them, and a couple thousand years of
radiation heat the cave. Then his old man visage disappears and his
Satanic Majesty laughs as he leaves the cave.
