Hello,
I posted this question two ws ago, got lots of input; many stayed
on topic:-).
I chose the method of convenience for the app I was working on (inline
code via a couple of reusable copybooks without CALL's, LINK's or
EXEC SQL's.
So a word of thanks to all who helped.
