To All:

Yesterday we received the final result of the chromosome testing. They are
100% certain that our baby has trisomy-18, a fatal chromosome condition.
This was the result of a G-band test. The preliminary results we received
before were from a FISH test and apparently the result was a false negative.
The cause of the discrepancy is not known but may be related to the small
number of cells available for testing. Our baby is expected to pass away
either before birth or shortly thereafter.

At this time we do not know if Judith will be able to continue staying in
the hospital or if she and the baby will be monitored wly on an
out-patient basis. Our current plan is for Judith to carry the baby until it
passes or until it is born. The doctors may recommend that labor be induced
at w 34 (we are now at w 27) if our baby survives that long.

Thanks to you all for you prayers for our baby and also for us.

I'm so sorry. My wife and I lost three pregnancies, one in the second
trimester, so I have some appreciation for the heartache you and your wife
must feel. I'll keep all of you in my prayers.

May the superiority of the outcome be readily apparent to all.

Charles I am so sorry to hear this. You and your wife have my deepest
condolences and are in my prayers.

I was surprised to learn that trisomy 18 is a relatively common
syndrome affecting approximately 1 out of 3,000 live births, and
affecting girls more than three times as often as boys.

I hope you can all find the strength to try and have another child
sometime down the road.

If you haven't visited the following site yet, I would suggest you
give it a look.

Thanks. Please pray for my son also.

My son called last night. He is in the U.S. Air Force reserves. His unit
is being called up and deployed to Iraq on September 3, 2007. This will be
his second tour. Last time he was in Iraq and Afganistan.

Oh Lord - there is simply nothing harder than what you are going through.
For what it is worth,
you have my prayers and my blessing. And my support if there is anything
else I can do for you.
