Sometimes I wonder about Vernor Vinge's concept of a future where it
is very hard to dig down through code, finding legacy parts deep
inside. In one view, I see that we have disposable code - but on the
other hand, I see us using components that we don't own.
And everybody except the young have seen enough change to assume that
the new concepts aren't the end-all.
