Hello Again - now on Gmail as well

| Hello to all of you. I sometimes see a name I know, and
have not been following COMP.LANG.COBOL for some time.
Yet, I do enjoy the conversations I do read, and the continued support
of some of the senior idealist.
I see a long list of messages of organizations looking
for COBOL people, and feel that provided a chance to
do some clarifications from time to time.
I find the database area is a scrap pile as programming
was prior to COBOL and other mainline languages.
Now living in NJ with my daughter, and Barbara who is
now in a alzhimers facility being treated, and iimproviing, we hope.
I have only seen her 2 or 3 times in the past
several months, and Gail has given me a CAT to care
for, or I would do nothing but watch TV, feed the Cat and me, and
convert pictures to digital format.
Gail is a Dean at the Statton Island NYU facility, and
now includes about seven departments in her area
of management. Of her two sons, the oldest is in college in CA, and
the youngest lives with her here in Highland
Park, where she approves of the school system for
her kids.
Love to hear from anyone with the inclination to say
anything on their mind.
Warren Simmons

Not to worry, old man... the latest argument has been whether GO TO should
be allowed in instances other than to the paragraph-name above, the -exit
paragraph below and the ABEND routine... new, fascinating stuff, I'm sure,
but you'll be able to catch up right quickly.

Nice that you're back... so, how do *you* feel about using GOBACK instead
of STOP RUN in a 'main' program?

Good to hear from you again Warren. You have my condolences for
having to live in New Jersey. :) On a serious note, I do hope your
wife is able to be stabalized. There are some new and promising drugs
available these days for the treatment of alzheimers but, as everyone
knows, there still is no cure.
Hang in there.
Regards,

It's a SHEER DELIGHT to know you are still around. I was tempted a while
back to write to you privately - but had negative thoughts which
thankfully are untrue !!!!
Me - kind of quit COBOL at 76 and just recovering from hip surgery.
Poor old COBOL - not the wondrous language that you and Gracie dreamed of.
Sorry to hear about the aspects of your life, but again a DELIGHT to
hear from you Warren.
