Are JCL questions on topic here?

| My newsserver doesn't seem to carry a group "comp.lang.jcl", nor any
newsgroup with the substring "jcl" in it, apparently. I've seen JCL
mentioned in passing a couple of times in this newsgroup, so I wondered if
JCL questions would be on topic here, or if anyone knew of a better
newsgroup to direct such questions to.

The following list server is copied to bit.listserv.ibm-main. What I
do is subscribe to the newsgroup and to the list server both. When I
subscribed to the list server, I told it to not send me e-mail, and
when I set up my news reader, I told it to reply to the list server
e-mail address instead of to the newsgroup. That way, everybody gets
a copy of my message.
For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions,
send email to listserv@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO
Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html

| Oliver,
Like Howard, I participate in "IBM-MAIN" -- but we also get occasional JCL
questions on this list. IBM-MAIN tends to be "systems programmers". If you
have relatively simple JCL questions, you might want to start here (or I might
be able to help you off-line). Also, depending on what you are doing, you
should know that z/OS (MVS) JCL is different from VSE JCL. (Frank could help
you with the latter).
Finally, if you need access to the online books (reference and programming
guides) we can help you with that as well.
