You might find that DSL + Vonage costs less than you're paying for telephone. My phone
bill went from $150/mo for three lines (local, home base and 800) down to $30 for Vonage +
$40 for broadband.

Having checked pricing, I find any change will cost more.
However, I did find that the cable company, while pushing
7Mbps and 12Mbps, also has 1.5Mbps and 768Kbps
plans. That's like getting DSL speeds over cable for
one-third the price and 768Kbps is only $4 more than
I am paying now for 56Kbps. It is something for me to
look into.
