Just in case no-one else has mentioned it: the tax situation is not
that simple in the UK. To avoid tax on earnings in one year one must
be outside of the UK for in excess of one year. That means as much as
18 months to avoid tax on 6 months earnings. However, as a foreign
national resident in the UK, earning oodles of dosh overseas, it is
possible to reduce one's UK tax burden to the min imum by agreeing
with the IR a nominal tax payment (=A325k?).
