Hello,

I am really a trespasser here as I have no clue about Cobol. The reason I post here is that I have a text file that I have to import in SQL and in the file specs some of the columns are defined as S9(9)V9(2). From what I read this is a zoned decimal format used in mainframes. The ASCII values in these columns represent dollar amounts but I do not know how to convert them in a SQL data type. For example a value is shown in the text file as 0000000510{. Also, the last char can be
{
A
B
C
D
E
F
G
H
I
J
K
O
P
Q

Can anybody help me understand how to convert this in a SQL data type?

Thanks a lot.
