Well, if you know going in that there are basically only two singers in it,
and that it's intended for minimalist staging, it's a pretty neat piece. I
do agree it'd be pretty deadly on TV, but I think it's got something to
offer seen live. Here's a case, too, where hearing it in the original
language is an important part of the experience, as is the spoken prologue
(rarely done any more). More listenable than most Alban Berg, anyway.
