LOL! I'm considered dangerous by many when I'm NOT :-).
Fortunately, with the calming that comes from the passing of years, I seldom
get anymore. (Can't remember the last time I threw a hissy fit... :-))
(Of course, in the (good?) old days when the Dashwoods were a law unto
themselves, it might have been different... I love the story of Sir Francis
Dashwood and John Wilkes (MP for Aylesbury, and one of the most feared
swordsmen in Late 18th Century England) getting drunk and 'boxing the
watch'. (This involved nailing the watchman inside his sentry box and
rolling it down a hill. ) On this occasion, the box split open, the
miscreants were too drunk to run away, and the Watchman marched them off at
sabre point to the nearest Magistrate. They were each fined a half a
farthing (a minimal sum, even in those times) and the Watchman was
reprimanded by the Magistrate for "interfering in the pleasures of the
Gentry" ...:-)
Times have changed, and rightly so...
I learned many years ago that getting about posts in CLC (and I have
on a few occasions, until I realised how stupid it is), is really pretty
pointless. It is a bastion of Free Speech and should be treasured for that
alone. The fact that some of what you will hear here may not be what you
want to hear, doesn't make it any less worthwhile.
You have a free forum in which to express your disgust and rejection of what
you see here; dobbing someone in just to teach them a lesson is unfair and
unworthy (IMO).
There is huge diversity of viewpoint, culture, and personality. I reckon
that's a good thing and even guys like Robert are part of it. It only
becomes dangerous when we start taking it too seriously. (If you exclude the
people who uspet you, or exclude people on the basis of their personality,
it isn't long before you sart deciding what is a 'proper' personality, then
comes conformity, and finally mediocrity...)

Well, part of the diversity mentioned above is that we all have different
'books' and that is as it should be...:-)
I wasn't suggesting we shouldn't pay our taxes; I certainly pay mine <sigh>.
However, I am not required to LIKE being sandbagged by the elected
government... :-)

That is so true.
