Problems installing MF Workbench 4.0 on WinXP
|
|
|
| Hi
I've just been assigned to a project to maintain an older system using
MF Workbench 4.0. Unfortunately, I got an installation error when I
tried to installed the product on my Windows XP system. According to
the on-line extended support FAQ, WB is "Not Supported" on XP. HAve
any of you guys had any luck. The actual error is:
Execution Error, file 'LOG', error code 114, pc=0, call=21, seq=0
(signal=11)
I've already tried copying the installation to my hard drive and
playing with its compatibility settings. Do any of you have any others
suggestions?
DhS.

It is running just fine on XP for me so I know it can be done.
There is a setup fix for Y2K that you need to install it. I don't
think you can install it at all without this fix. I installed from the
diskette. I had to set the compatibility setting of setup.exe on the
diskette to Win 95 or NT. Then put in the CD and use this command:
AT THE C: PROMPT:
C:\>A:\setup -from x:\cobolwb (where x: is your CD drive)
This is to initially install Workbench 4.0. After that the update
CD did not require any special settings.
