I'm going nuts trying to find what specific values are included in the phrase "alphanumeric" for IBM mainframe Cobol II. Tried doing a search at IBM website and got a bazillion hits, NONE of which told me what I need to know.
"Alphanumeric" :
alphabetic characters a-z
numeric characters 0-9
does it also recognize space as an allowable character?
