| Dear COBOL Users,
We are currently looking for user group leaders to start Acucorp,
Fujitsu, or Micro Focus COBOL user groups!
Do you feel that you do not have the time to start and run a COBOL user
group?
Do you know that ONLY a small number of hours of your time each
year could make a big difference to you, your company, your local area,
and the COBOL community?
By being a COBOL user group leader, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Gain name and company recognition in the COBOL community.
2. Use your leadership skills.
3. Add credentials to your skills set.
4. Have a communication path to COBOL vendors' staff.
5. Receive discounts and special offers on events
and products.
6. Network with other COBOL user group leaders and
users worldwide.
7. Build, grow and promote a COBOL community in your
local area.
8. Make business contacts.
9. Promote and raise awareness of the evolution of COBOL
in the IT industry.
10. Have fun.
The COBOL User Groups (COBUG) helps reduce the number of hours of your
time to be a user group leader. We provide you support with planning
and promoting your user group, recruiting and maintaining members,
planning meetings and events, and obtaining vendor support. We can
provide overall coordination of your user group.
If you are a corporate COBOL user, consultant, independent software
vendor (ISV), product developer, or COBOL enthusiast, this is your
opportunity to make a difference! If you are interested in starting an
Acucorp, Fujitsu, or Micro Focus COBOL user group, contact COBUG at
(startCobolUserGroup@cobug.com) and indicate which COBOL user group you
want to start.
We also invite you to join COBUG
(http://www.cobug.com/cgi/cobug/register/register.cgi)
and become a part of the new COBOL movement.
Sincerely yours,
Thomas Perry
