Anytime I see the term "expectation" and a discussion as to whether they are
or are not met in a given context, the saw "an expectation is a premeditated
resentment" comes to mind ...

The one I prefer is 'Blessed are those who have no expectations, as they
are rarely disappointed.'

Good one, but doesn't fit quite so well in an environment in which
"Resentment is the number one offender" takes on near-scriptural
significance, the scripture in this case being page 64 of what is known
colloquially as the Big Book ... ;-)

It shows my lack of familiarity with such environments, I guess... but it
might be that others are closer friends of Bill's.
