I know that there have already been responses pointing to *either* SHARE or
"trainers friend" (http://www.trainersfriend.com). However, let me mention an
"overlap" between the two.

In NYC at SHARE, the Friday morning will offer you a "trainer's friend"
delivered chance for a series of COBOL "workshops".

Please check out the SHARE website for details, but the following is the most
recent "draft" of the information that I have:

"We have the ticket for you! Three dynamite, fast-paced sessions to get you
conversant with modern COBOL.

One: Basics - what does a COBOL program look like?
how does it act? here we examine the
fundamental constructs of COBOL programs:
character set, program structure, data
definitions, basic logic structures

Two: COBOL works - a look at tables, subscripts,
indexes, string handling, calling,
passing arguments, recieving parameters,
intrinsic functions

Three: COBOL is COOL - a look at COBOL support
for Unicode, XML, and Java; dynamic
file allocation from a COBOL program;
COBOL in the z/OS UNIX environment.

We will be using primarily a lecture by example approach, where we display and
discuss actual programs demonstrating the features under consideration. For a
small investment of time, you can get a realistic idea of what's possible using
today's COBOL compilers.

COBOL - It's not just for breakfast anymore!

And if you are attending the entire w of SHARE (with all that offers), it is
free (or more accurately "included")
