Note to DD: This is a real job opening. Your standard response would be
inappropriate.

Note to Mr Morrison: this is comp.lang.cobol, not the Austin
American-Stateman (sic). Treating these venues as equivalent establishes
a precedent of impropriety.

When posting to comp.lang.cobol please include a rate, or range of rates,
associated with the position(s) offered; to do otherwise leads many to
conclude that you are either trolling for resumes or running a blind ad to
determine rates.

Tom, Tom, Tom :-)

You must be an eternal optimist. Go up to the attic and dig out the
Radio Shack Model II, and along with the RM compiler, send it to him as
a token of friendship :-)

Cop to motorist stopped for speeding: Say, what's this... are you trying
to bribe me with this five-dollar bill?

Motorist: I'm sorry, Officer, there's been a terrible mistake... I'm not
trying to bribe you with that five-dollar bill, I'm trying to bribe you
with *this* twenty-dollar bill!

(note - the antiquity of this interchange can be deduced from the size of
the bribe offered and the beginning of a sentence with 'Say')

First, I really *do* have an RS Model II in my attic!

But it is already designated for another c.l.cobol-ite that recently hinted
on another thread that my company (on the brink of turning 35 years old)
might be incapable of surviving because we are a small company. ;-)
