does anyone know if the setting BUFFERS=0 in CONFIG.NT is still recognised
under NT4 upwards to XP.
this would be in addition to inserting entrys in the SYSTEM REGISTRY to
turn caching off.

AFAIK, setting BUFFERS= is simply ignored in 2000 & up. Not too sure
about NT4, but an empirical test should prove it one way or the other.
