Incorrect response from network

| I have a client who's getting a DOS error 58: Incorrect response from
network. We can see the drive in Windows and DOS, DIR works OK. DBU will not
load and my software that accesses data on the network drive will not copy
data or read from it, or at least that's how it appears. Other workstations
are working fine. Any ideas?

Maybe a replacement for the NIC is mandatory.
