How can I force characters into a variable prior to the READ

Hi,

Using Cliper 5.3b.

I have a navigation routine (PgUP, PgDn, Arrow keys enabled) that
allows the user to navigate an array. I also trap the numeric keys
where if one is pressed, the user can edit the field that the cursor is
on (numeric fields only of course). What I want it to include teh
numeric key already pressed as part of my GET even though I haven't
issued the GET statement until after the first numeric key is pressed.
Is there a way to stuff the key into the GET variable and then issue my
GET staement with teh cursor in the second column?
