Author Wanted Clipper 5.2 consultant
Datamen Consultants

2004-06-18, 3:55 pm

We are running a retail store with a 25-node Novell Network, in
Trivandrum
(KERALA, INDIA). We have been into network since 1988, and been using
the
service of in-house retainer consultants.

Now, since one of our existing consultants is migrating to the Middle
East,
a vacancy has fallen.

Those who are interested to take-up a challenging flexi-time/full-time
assignment may respond to sph123@vsnl.com.

Thanks,
Datamen Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

This is what I like to see - a company in India outsourcing IT work to
programmers in the US.

Nice spin Peter, but not how I read it. I think he wants you onsite.
The reference to flexi-time indicates that he knows you will need more
time to get to work because of the road traffic from the US to India
<g>. Getting home is on your own time.

Pritpal,

There is a current trend amongst some US and Australian companies to
improve their profits by sacking their own programmers and placing
contracts with Indian companies to do the same work. It is also
happening with call centres. Last w I receive 3 telephone calls (2
from India and 1 from the Philippines) "selling" services of
Australian based companies. I object to this because my fellow
countrymen lose their jobs just so the companies can make more
profits. I am not opposed to Indian companies tendering for jobs and
winning them fairly though.

I think it was either Chicago or the state of Illinois that tried to do the
same but got squelched.
