I am experiencing a very weird problem with my Clipper Program. On
start up of the program, My customers sometime get the cursor jumping
all over the screen and the printer starts printing the program screen
over and over to the printer. This happens under both Windows 2000
and Windows XP systems. The problem does not occur everytime. I am
using Clipper 5.3b and blinker 5.10 with CTIII. Any
advice/suggestions would be great, I have beat my head against the
wall to try and solve this problem.

Thanks In Advance.

Try BLinker 7.0. I had a similar problem that could be traced to an older
BLinker version.

Turan,

EXTREMELY interesting. Our users sometime report such behavior and we
could never replicate it. They are still on Windows NT. Our
application Clipper 5.2e linked with Blinker 5.10.

Do you happen to remember which older Blinker version you have
experienced the problem with?

TIA, Eugene

I have one customer that is experiencing it on Windows NT. The problem
started happening about 6 months ago. Whe have been using Blinker 5.10 for
many years. I have ordered Blinker 7.00. I let you know if it corrects the
problem.

It was the highest 5.? version. On the other hand, I still did some
development under Windows NT with BLinker 5.x, and it ran smoothly. The
trouble came from the mouse in Clipper 5.3 plus some new features in Windows
2000 and Windows XP.

Hope that helps, but it sounds different.

Turan,

Thank you very much for the clarification.

We have several executables that are compiled with Clipper 5.2 and linked
with Blinker 5.10 and only one exhibits this strange behavior. It is an
unattended process that runs continuously at 13 different sites. For each
site we never had more than 1-2 occurrences per month. So it's pretty rare.

We (developers) were never able to reproduce this thing ever.

When it was first reported we even thought of sticky "Print Screen" key.
When it was reported by more than one site we blamed "Print Screen 95"
utility. After this utility was removed from all the involved workstations
we had nothing left to blame.

I was inclined to upgrade to Blinker 7 anyway since our users will
eventually move to Win'XP. After reading your memo we decided to expedite
the upgrade.
