is where you should be writing. You really don't have to store
everything in one directory.

Lock down the software and turn loose your data. This isn't a bad
thing or even that hard. It's just a PITA to relearn it.

Personally I would move to XML as you can do more in an XML file than
an INI file. INI files are so Windows 3.0.
